Local pressure cleaning for Carseldine homes
Carseldine is about 15 kilometres north of the Brisbane CBD, between Aspley and Bald Hills. It takes its name from the Carseldine family, who settled in the Bald Hills district in the 1850s, and for a long time this land was simply the southern part of Bald Hills. Carseldine only emerged as a suburb in its own right in the early 1970s, so most of its housing has grown up in the decades since.
That makes it a suburb of two halves when it comes to exterior cleaning. The established streets hold a lot of 1970s, 80s and 90s homes: brick and rendered houses on standard suburban blocks, with concrete driveways and paths that have weathered for thirty to fifty years. Then there is the newer building, including townhouses and the homes going up on the former university land near the railway station.
That land was the Carseldine campus, which began as a college of advanced education and later became part of QUT, until the university moved its activities to its inner-city campuses in 2008. The site is now being developed as the Carseldine Urban Village. Newer homes like these often have exposed aggregate driveways, rendered walls and light-coloured finishes, which show dirt quickly and need a gentler, more careful clean than old plain concrete.
Cabbage Tree Creek runs along the southern edge of the suburb, and the bushland and parks along it bring shade, birds and leaf litter to the streets nearby. In our humid summers that is exactly what feeds black mould on paths and green algae on the shaded side of a house. We pre-treat that growth before cleaning, so the surface comes up evenly without needing heavy pressure, and render and paint are soft washed rather than blasted.
For owners of the older homes, a clean is often the first step before something else: a repaint, new sealer on the driveway, or getting the place ready to sell or lease. Starting from a clean surface helps paint and sealer bond properly, and it lets you see what condition the concrete and render are really in.
Kerb Appeal Pressure Cleaning works out of Caboolture and we cover the northside regularly, so Carseldine is a straightforward trip for us. Whether it is a single townhouse courtyard or a whole driveway, paths and house wash on an older family home, send a few photos and we will give you a fixed quote before anything is booked.

Carseldine questions
Can't see your question? Call us and ask.
Can you clean exposed aggregate without loosening the stones?
Yes. Aggregate gets a lower pressure and a surface cleaner, with any mould pre-treated first so it lifts without force. If the surface was sealed and the sealer has worn, we will mention it, as resealing after a clean can be worth considering.
My townhouse in Carseldine is small. Is it worth booking?
Absolutely. Courtyards, entries and a short driveway can usually be done in one visit. Small jobs may have a minimum charge to cover travel from Caboolture, and we will let you know in the quote so there are no surprises.
Why does mould keep coming back on my shaded path?
Shade, moisture and leaf litter from nearby trees give mould everything it needs. Pre-treating during the clean kills the growth rather than just removing the surface layer, which slows its return. Most shaded paths here benefit from a clean every year.
