Local pressure cleaning for Bald Hills homes
Bald Hills is the northernmost suburb in the City of Brisbane, roughly 18 kilometres north of the CBD. The South Pine River forms its western border and the Pine River runs along the north, so across the water you are into the City of Moreton Bay. For us, coming down from Caboolture, it is the first Brisbane suburb on the way south.
It is also one of the oldest settled parts of the northside. Scottish families took up land here in 1857, a store opened in 1869, and the district stayed a rural community for a long time. The name is usually said to describe the grassy, open rises that stood out among the scrub along the river. A few of the older timber houses remain, including some Queenslanders, but most of the suburb grew much later.
The big change came in the 1960s, when the population nearly tripled as housing spread north towards the South Pine River. That gives Bald Hills a lot of homes from the 1960s and 70s: high-set and low-set houses in timber, fibro and brick, many on decent-sized blocks. Newer homes and small developments have been added since, but the character of most streets comes from that era.
Homes of that age need care when it comes to cleaning. Older fibro and painted weatherboards should not be pressure blasted, so we soft wash them at low pressure, letting the cleaning solution lift mould and dirt before a gentle rinse. Queenslanders with timber stumps, lattice and verandahs get the same careful approach. Concrete paths and driveways laid decades ago are often worn and porous, and they come up well with a pre-treatment and an even surface clean.
Plenty of these homes are high-set, with the area under the house used for parking, storage or a laundry. Those concrete slabs and the stairs leading up to the living area tend to collect dust, cobwebs and mildew because they rarely get direct sun. They clean up quickly and are an easy add-on to a driveway or house wash.
Being so close to the river, many properties have big established trees and pockets of shade, which bring leaf litter and the damp conditions that mould loves. Being the closest Brisbane suburb to our base also means Bald Hills is simple for us to reach, and we cover the northside regularly. Send a few photos and we will reply with a fixed quote.

Bald Hills questions
Can't see your question? Call us and ask.
Can you wash an old Queenslander without damaging the timber?
Yes. Timber homes are soft washed at low pressure. The cleaning solution does the work, and we rinse gently so paint is not lifted and water is not forced into joints. If paint is already flaking, we will point that out before starting.
How often should a Bald Hills driveway be cleaned?
Every 12 to 24 months suits most homes. Driveways under big trees or on the shaded side of the house often need it yearly, because leaf litter and damp conditions bring the mould back faster.
Do you come to Bald Hills often?
Yes. It is the nearest Brisbane suburb to our base in Caboolture, so it fits easily into our regular northside runs. Most jobs are priced the same as anywhere else we work.
