Bridgeman Downs sits around 15 kilometres north of the Brisbane CBD, on the western edge of the city where it meets the City of Moreton Bay. It is named after Henry Bridgeman, who took up land here in the 1860s, and the area stayed largely rural and agricultural for a long time afterwards. Even now, it feels noticeably more spacious than the suburbs to its east.
