Local pressure cleaning for Aspley homes
Aspley lies around 12 kilometres north of the Brisbane CBD, on flat ground south of Cabbage Tree Creek and on the rises to the east and south of it. The area was first known as Little Cabbage Tree Creek, after the smaller creek that runs through the middle of the suburb, and it stayed a farming district of small holdings well into the twentieth century.
Residential subdivision started in the 1950s, but the real growth came in the 1970s, when much of Aspley filled with family homes. That gives many streets a recognisable look: low-set and high-set brick houses, wide concrete driveways, tiled roofs and a good-sized backyard. Plenty have since been extended or rebuilt, and there are newer townhouses and units scattered through the suburb, but the 1970s brick home is still the backbone of Aspley.
Houses of that era clean up well, but they need the right approach. Face brick and mortar joints hold mould and dust, especially on the southern side of the house where the sun rarely reaches. Eaves and gutters on these homes collect a grey film over the years. We soft wash the walls, eaves and fascias so the cleaning solution does the work rather than high pressure, which protects the mortar and any painted trim.
The original driveways are now well over forty years old in many cases, and the hills in parts of Aspley mean some of them are fairly steep. Shaded, sloping concrete that has gone black with mould is genuinely slippery after rain. We pre-treat the growth, clean the slab evenly with a rotary surface cleaner, and finish the edges and joints by hand. Homes backing onto the creek corridors tend to have more leaf drop and shade, so their paths and patios often need a little more attention.
Tiled roofs from the same era are another common job. Decades of lichen and dark staining build up on concrete and terracotta tiles, which makes a home look older than it is. On single storey homes we soft wash the roof at low pressure, so tiles are not cracked and the ridge pointing is not blasted out.
We are based up in Caboolture and we cover the northside regularly, so Aspley is a familiar run for us down Gympie Road. Send through a few photos of the driveway, paths or walls you want cleaned, tell us roughly how long since they were last done, and we will come back with a fixed price before any work is booked.

Aspley questions
Can't see your question? Call us and ask.
Will pressure cleaning damage the mortar on my brick house?
We do not blast brickwork. Walls are soft washed at low pressure, with a cleaning solution that loosens mould and grime so it rinses off gently. That keeps the mortar joints intact and avoids marking painted window frames and trim.
My Aspley driveway is steep and gets slippery. Can cleaning help?
Yes. That slipperiness usually comes from mould and algae on shaded concrete. We pre-treat the growth and clean the slab evenly, which removes the slick layer. Keeping it clean every year or two stops it building back up.
Is there a minimum charge for a small job in Aspley?
For most jobs there is no difference. Small jobs may have a minimum charge to cover travel from Caboolture, and if that applies we will say so clearly in your quote.
